Zanjan is the capital of Zanjan Province in northwestern Iran. It is 298 km north-west of Tehran on the main highway to Tabriz and Turkey and approximately 125 km from the Caspian Sea. Zanjan is known for its beautiful handcrafts such as knives, traditional sandals, called charoogh, and malileh, a handcraft made with silver wires. Due to mountainous area, and the effects of wet weather flows north-west and west, highland climate, with cold snowy winter, is characteristic of this province. But, the pleasant spring and summer are the best time to spend leisure time in the region.

This is a dreamy image of the Zanjan sky at sunset. Thanks to Velvia 50 slide film, beautiful and amazing colors have been obtained from this beautiful sky. For this photo, I only metered the light of the sky and tried to make the horizon completely black. Because in my opinion, the beautiful sky of this picture was the main subject. Because of the changes in sunlight at sunset, I took several photos, several minutes apart, so that I could choose the best ones later.

For this photo, I used my Hasselblad 500 C/M camera and Carl Zeiss Distagon 50/f4 CFi FLE lens. The lens was set at a hyperfocal distance, and the image recorded, with aperture 22 and shutter speed 1/4 seconds on Fuji Velvia 50 film.
